What a year 2021 was for Akers of Art!

The start of a New Year is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months and see just how much you’ve achieved. For Akers of Art, 2021 was a year full of amazing achievements and exciting developments.

In October I was nominated at the ‘Woman Who Achieves Awards’ in the ‘Woman Who Achieves in a Creative World’ category and was so excited to be announced the winner. To be in a room full of inspiring and creative women was so wonderful and I was so honoured to have been chosen.

Red Brick Market
Last year also saw the successful opening of my stall at the Red Brick Market in Digbeth. At my stall you can see a host of fantastic pieces I have created, from Tree of Life wall art to unique pendants, bracelets, rings, tie pins and more. It’s a great place to explore, so please pop down and see all of the beautiful pieces I have available to buy.

Birmingham City Library Ambassador
Towards the end of the year I was approached by the Birmingham Library to become an ambassador. As an independent business, I have been lucky enough to partake in many of their programs that help small businesses and now the time has come for me to give something back. I will be involved in a variety of sessions to help share my experiences with other small businesses and I’m really excited to be a part of such a fantastic scheme.

Birmingham Contemporary Gallery
I have been lucky enough to be chosen to have some of my pieces on display at the Birmingham Contemporary Art Gallery. When visiting this vibrant and forward thinking gallery, you will experience some stunning creations, including my tree of life sculptures and wall art pieces amongst other beautiful designs.

The Launch of my Wonderful Website
Last year also saw the launch of my website which features examples of the pieces I’ve created as well as information regarding the gemstones I use for my pieces. You can now easily place orders and purchase items directly from my site. Please take a look here.
