We’re already at the end of April and what a fantastic month it’s been for Akers of Art. April has brought some changes and lots of exciting developments…
Bigger is Better…
Last month I teased some new developments after connecting
with the fantastic WR & J Collins Blacksmiths in Old Yardley village. After
visiting their amazing site and having a few conversations about my plans for
the future, I’m excited to announce that I can now do even larger-scale wall
art pieces. With bespoke metal frames to match any size requirement, my pieces
will now be able to make an even bigger impact than before. If you would like
an inspiring piece for your space, please contact me for a free 30 minute
My moment in the spotlight…
This Tuesday, the 3rd of May will see me host Phoenix Networking’s brilliant breakfast club at exclusive spot, Dishoom in Birmingham. I will be sharing my journey to success and displaying pieces of my art and jewellery to attendees and there will even be a prize draw at the end. If you would like to come along, please follow this link to secure your spot:
My wonderful workshops…
As we move closer to the wedding season, requests for my workshops always increase and this year is no different. The most popular with all-female groups is the jewellery making workshop I offer. During the session, each attendee gets the opportunity to either create a handwoven wire rose pendant or a wire woven tumbled gemstone of their choice. My workshops are always such a wonderful way to come together in a shared interest, they really break the ice and everyone gets to take something away with them to keep forever. If you’re interested in a workshop for work or with family and friends, please contact me for more information.
I don’t know if you know, but I love to talk…
A big part of my working life is meeting and connecting with new people and networking has always been such an important part of my business growth. I love hearing everyone’s stories and seeing the enthusiasm they have for my artwork. If you’re interested in attending any networking meetings in and around Birmingham or even online, please message me and I’ll be happy to suggest some brilliant opportunities for connecting.
It's all change at the Red Brick Market
The past two weeks have seen me make some changes to my space at the Red Brick Market in Digbeth. The plan was always to have a space that I could go to and create my pieces from. As the business has grown and the scale of my pieces has got bigger, it has been increasingly difficult to dedicate time to working from the market. I absolutely love having my pieces on show in such a creative space, so I’ve decided to scale down my area and change to a wall-only space. If you ever visit, please make sure to take photos and videos and tag me on social media, I’d love to see them!
With the year already disappearing at break neck speeds, it’s a good idea to get your orders for Father’s Day in sooner rather than later. With a whole host of unique and eyecatching men’s pieces, you’re bound to find the perfect item to match their character. From Bowtie pins and lapel pins to beaded bracelets and striking wall art, there’s something for everyone and any budget.
What’s coming up in May
I’m excited to be working on a number of projects that are currently being kept secret and I can’t wait to tell you more next month. They include a stunning bridal piece, a very special birthday gift and a few exclusive installations.
I am also going to be featuring some of the wonderful testimonials I’ve received in my marketing in May, if you have purchased from me before and would like to share a testimonial, I would really appreciate it.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next update. In the meantime, if you’d like to talk about a commission or would like to purchase an item, please visit my website or email me.
